DATA HACKATHON 2019 – GUIDELINES

General

  1. The Data Hackathon event will run for 48 hours; starting from 29th Jul 19 12PM IST to 31st Jul 19 12PM IST
  2. The Data Hackathon is limited to the associates of Intellect SEEC in Hyderabad & Chennai locations only.
  3. You may prefer to stay back overnight on 29th Jul / 30th Jul, if needed you have to inform the Hackathon volunteers about your stay by 3PM IST on respective days.
  4. Arrangements for your stay, food and permitted beverages would be made available.
  5. Lunch, Evening snacks and Dinner are provided to the team members of Data Hackathon on 29th Jul & 30th Jul
  6. Team Guidelines
    1. Maximum 4 associates are allowed to form a team.
    2. Team Lead has to be decided prior to start of the Data Hackathon who will represent the team and player of the team who contributed the most to the activity has to be recorded as part of your submission.
    3. We recommend you have a combination of associates from different verticals & also recommend a combination of below: Developer, Business Analyst / Domain Expert, QA / Test engineer, Database Expert
    4. An associate who is a part of one team can not be part of one more team.
  7. We will arrange for any technical support / consultancy from 12PM to 6PM IST on 29th Jul & 30th Jul. However, that incurs a cost in the form of points which will be deducted for the same from your team’s submission. The consultant will only provide the guidance and direction but not solve the problem statement.
  8. Few use cases with required data sets will be provided to all the teams via “devpost.com” at the start of the event and the team can choose the use case of their choice.
  9. If one use case is completed by any team and submission done via email, then they can start working for the second case and so on.
  10. Points will be allocated by the panel as per the completion (more weightage) & the solution relevance for each use case.
  11. Points will be allocated to second use case based on the completion stage.
  12. Final submissions have to be emailed before 12PM IST on 31st Jul 19
  13. Results will be announced for Data Hackathon on 3rd Aug 19 during "Intellect Day"
  14. The Data Hackathon organizing committee will be making the final decision in case of any conflicts.
  15. Last but not the least, don't worry about the competition, enjoy the event and have fun through out the event.

Do’s

  1. All the associates who will be working for the Hackathon will be using their own personal GitHub Account.
  2. The Hackathon submissions must be sent to emails provided by the Organizing team during the registration.
  3. Your final submission demo/presentation should be short and not to exceed 20 minutes and will be presented on 31st Jul to all participants.
  4. You need to use your own Cloud Accounts in case you are using any of the cloud services.
  5. You can use open-source code and frameworks. Licensed Applications are not to be used without appropriate license and permission.
  6. We advise to keep mobiles in silent and attend calls outside the room.
  7. Should strictly follow the Intellect policies and Guidelines.

Dont’s

  1. Using Intellect’s GitHub or any Intellect licensed accounts is strictly prohibited.
  2. You should not use any examples that offends others.
  3. Data will be provided by us for the use case; refrain from downloading the data from internet or other sources.
  4. No Dataset/ Algorithms/ Code from Intellect organization should be downloaded or forked.
  5. External Hard drives, or Pen drives or other storage devices are not to be brought into the venue.
  6. Connecting Mobile phones to the Desktops or Laptops is not allowed.
